Critical Friends Group

Participation in a Critical Friends Group (CFG) is an opportunity to get peer ideas on your Scenario-Based Assessment (SBA) in a face-to-face environment. The goal of this process is to support you in developing an authentic, high-quality SBA.
Critical Friends Protocol

1. Presentation
2. Clarification
3. Assessment (Think Time)
4. "I like"
5. "I wonder"
6. Reflection
7. "I have"

  • See teams above. This team will be your Critical Friends Group (CFG).
  • The presenting teacher provides SBA overview and discussion focus, and CFG members provide insight and feedback. The moderator helps keep the process on track.
  • Follow directions on your role card to complete CFG process.
  • After the final step of the protocol, pass your role card to the right and repeat the process for the new presenting teacher's SBA focus.

Work Time
When Critical Friends Protocol is completed for each SBA in your group, apply any desired changes to your SBA.
