      • Unit Plan Elements -Our Brainstorming

Unit Plans - Team Dialogue following Charrette Protocol

  • You will form content area teams (1 math, 2 science) to dialogue about each unit using the Charrette Protocol.
Directions
  1. The first presenting teacher gives 2-3 minute snapshot overview of unit plan (including "star" and "wish"). "Wish" will be focus area for group discussion.
  2. The group poses clarification questions as needed.
  3. Then the presenter takes notes as the rest of the group discusses the area of focus.
  4. When the dialogue is complete (3-4 minutes), the presenter summarizes and provides reflective thoughts on the discussion.
  5. Repeat process for each unit plan presenter.
  6. Reflect on the protocol process.
  • Be sure to address specific needs with ideas and potential resources.
  • Throughout the process, each team member should listen carefully and respectfully, paraphrase, ask clarifying questions and provide substantive contributions.
